The physical therapist will focus at the consequences of myotonic dystrophy for movement. This may be muscle weakness and/or general decline of physical condition, which may influence, amongst others, walking distance or walking pattern.

The physical therapist will perform tests to determine the nature and severity of the problems. Based on these results, you will receive an advice regarding physical activities, adjusted to your personal situation.

The physical therapist may also give advice about adapted shoeware and walking aids.
