In the Myotonic Dystrophy Centre in Maastricht and Nijmegen, the Netherlands, the neurologist is the central doctor taking care of you. The neurologist will usually see you on a yearly basis, will guard the course of the disease, and coordinates the care of the several other health care providers needed. The neurologist may be assisted by a nurse practitioner, which often is the primary contact person.
